With a length of 400 meters and a width of 61.40 meters, this colossal vessel has a capacity of 24,136 TEUs, making it one of the few container ships to exceed the magic capacity limit. The decision to call at the Port of Hamburg with its most modern ship showcases the port’s dedication to providing state-of-the-art facilities for handling such large-scale operations.
According to Axel Mattern, CEO of Port of Hamburg Marketing, “The shipping company’s decision to call at the Port of Hamburg with its most modern ship shows that we have done our homework. For example, terminal operators have state-of-the-art container gantry cranes to efficiently unload and load a ship of this size. In addition, shore power systems are currently being installed at the container terminals in the Port of Hamburg to make the ships’ laytime more environmentally friendly.”
The ONE Innovation is not only a marvel of engineering but also a testament to ONE’s commitment to sustainability. The vessel incorporates various features aimed at reducing its environmental impact. The modern design prioritizes maximizing cargo capacity while minimizing fuel consumption, resulting in significant reductions in carbon dioxide emissions. The ship is equipped with a bow windshield, an energy-saving device, and an exhaust gas cleaning system to adhere to the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) emission regulations.

The ONE Innovation will be deployed in the Asia-Europe service, specifically in the liner service FE3, as part of THE Alliance (THEA).
